My Liz Earle Skin Care Routine

In the last few months I've been thinking about skincare and how important it is to look after your skin.. after all, you only get one! I've realised the importance of having a proper, consistent routine and how the harsh chemicals in some products could actually harm your skin instead of helping it. After a lot of research, I came across Liz Earle, with the slogan of Naturally Active Skincare. After trying this I fell in love and ever since have repurchased it.
Most importantly, the ingredients Liz Earle use are natural, which means you don't have to worry about any nasty chemicals. This also means that the products are a lot more gentle on the face too, which is important to me as my skin can sometimes be a bit sensitive and a lot of cleansers I have tried in the past have irritated it, leaving my face bright red and sore. I've also noticed a big difference in my skin since using these products, and found that I break out a lot less, and when I do they clear up a lot quicker!

So now onto my skincare routine, which I do everyday, morning and night!

Step One: CLEANSE
Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser
After your face is makeup free, massage a pump (or two) onto dry skin and then remove with a muslin cloth or flannel with hot water.
This is my favourite part of my skin care routine as it just feels so refreshing, to me this product is like a facial in a bottle. Afterwards your skin feels so smooth and clean, and instead of drying your skin out like other products do it feels a lot more moisturised. The smell of this cleanser is very natural with no overpowering fragrance and reminds me of being in a spa.

Step Two: EXFOLIATE
Gentle Face Exfoliator
I use this in my skin care routine twice a week, typically on a Wednesday and a Sunday. You apply this after your skin is cleansed, and gently massage the exfoliating jojoba beads into your skin, buffing away any dry/dead skin. I like to use this as it un-congests my skin and makes it smooth, helping with any dry patches I may have. The beads are not too harsh, so it isn't damaging.

Step Three: TONE
Instant Boost Skin Tonic
When my face is dry, I put some of this toner onto a cotton pad and sweep it all over the face. There is often a lot of confusion of what a toner does, and whether it is necessary in your skin care routine. My answer is definitely yes! When you cleanse your face it opens yours pores, a toner closes these pores. If the pores remain open, they become clogged and congested again. A toner also helps rebalance your skins natural PH levels, which are stripped when you cleanse your skin. This particular one has a brightening effect, that soothes and rejuvenates your skin which is a lovely added bonus. This is definitely an important step not to skip!

Step Four: MOISTURISE
 Skin Repair Moisturiser | Normal/Combination
After my toner has sunk into my skin, I finally apply my moisturiser. I love this moisturiser as it is so lightweight and sinks into the skin fast, as there is nothing I hate more than getting into bed with a creamy, sticky face! The effects of this moisturiser are instant and long lasting and when I wake up in the morning my face feels just as conditioned and smooth as the night before. This product caters for all skin types which is great, as not only does it come in a formula for normal/combination skin types, but also for oily and dry/sensitive too.

Another great thing about the Liz Earle products is their packaging, not only is it really cute with the muted mint and yellow packaging and silver detailing, but also really practical. The cleanser and exfoliator both come with a pump that dispenses just the right amount of product to cover your face with no wastage.

You can buy these products in mini tester/travel sizes too, which makes it perfect for trying out so you don't have to commit to buying full size products until you're sure it's right for you, which is so helpful.

This skin care obviously isn't the cheapest out there, but I thoroughly believe that when it comes to good skincare it is worth the investment! I feel that well looked after skin is the best canvas for makeup and makes everything apply and look so much nicer.
