Travelling Europe | Visiting the Vatican City

The Vatican City is somewhere I never expected I would have be able to visit, and I feel so lucky to have done so. The Vatican is the smallest city state in the world, with a population of only 842!
I wandered the rooms of the Vatican museum, looking at all the beautiful paintings and sculptures, many of them iconic masterpieces from the renaissance period. I visited the holy Sistine Chapel, where cameras and talking is forbidden, and saw the magnificent celling painted by Michelangelo and the Stanze della Segnatura decorated by Raphael. The atmosphere in the Chapel was unlike anything that I had ever experienced.
Unfortunately, the Pope himself wasn't home.
