Hello Sexy! GlamGlow Super Mud Clearing Treatment

Today's post is about something that I have been dying to talk to you about, the GlamGlow SuperMud mask! I used this the other day for the first time after hearing so many amazing reviews on it and the difference in my skin was huge. I have always suffered with some black heads here and there and found it hard to completely get rid of them, until I used this.

This is a mud charcoal mask, that when dries pulls out all the impurities from the skin. When it's dry you can see all the dirt and oil on the surface, which I actually like because you know that the mask has actually got all the crap out of your pores (as gross as it is!). When you apply the mask it tingles and your face feels a bit tight, but nothing uncomfortable and it has a earthy minty smell that doesn't linger when you remove the mask. Due to how powerful and effective this mask is, I expected my skin to feel stripped and dry afterwards but that was not the case; in fact my skin felt really smooth and soft.

Before using this mask I remove all my makeup and then cleanse my face with the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, and then exfoliate with the Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator. I will then apply the mask and leave it to dry for about 15 minutes. Once it's dry I remove the mask using a warm damp flannel and then use the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic followed by the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser. If you want to know more about my everyday skin care routine, I've written a post here.

Another thing I love about this product is that you can use it as a spot treatment too, as it removes the oil from the blemish, allowing it try dry up and heel quicker. Using this mask on a regular basis would help with break outs as a whole as it removes the oil/dirt from the pores before it turns into a spot on the skin. The product information says that this mask can be used for 17 mask treatments or up to 1000 spot treatments.

So what's the magic behind this? The main ingredient is activated charcoal which extracts impurities from deep in the pores of the skin. It also has K17 clay which removes oils. It has 6 AHA and BHA acids which neutralised the PH level on the skin, allowing faster and better results. These acids are Glycolic (improves skin texture), Salicylic (aids skin rejuvenation), Lactic (reduces pigmentation and stimulates skin collagen), Mandelic (helps with the signs of aging), Pyruvic (improves scaring) and Azelaic (helps fight bacteria, reducing breakouts). This mask really is one of those 'do it all' products, and I love it!
I do have to address the price of this product, I bought it for £39.99 from Feel Unique which is expensive, however, I have absolutely no regrets. Although when you first get the pot you think that it's on the smaller side, when you use the product inside it actually has a watery texture and the smallest amount covers a large surface area. I also think that after using this mask once it becomes clear where the problem areas on your face are, allowing you to target the mask to those areas.

How cute is the packaging through? Everyone loves a spontaneous little compliment!
