Yves Saint Laurent Couture Variation

If you've been reading my blog for a while, then you will know I'm a sucker for eye shadow palettes. I've always adored YSL lipsticks, but I've never ventured into their eye shadows, in fact I've never purchased a luxury high end palette before. When I saw this, it was a love at first sight kinda thing (no I'm not being dramatic) a perfect combination of neutral mattes and shimmers. I wasn't sure whether their shadows were the best of quality or anything, but before I knew it I had made a sneaky Feel Unique order and it was on its way. Don't do that kids, that's what these reviews are for! Luckily for me, and my bank account, I was beyond happy.

First lets talk quality - they are a pleasure to use. The colour pay off is great, a buttery formula, long lasting longevity under a trusty primer. Basically, they tick all the boxes of my perfect eye shadow check list. I was surprised to find that there wasn't too much fall out with the shimmery shades. I've been grabbing this on the regular, it's got everything you need for a basic every day look.

Although I love the shade range, to some it's seen as a bit limited. What is missing is a medium matte brown, a transition shade. Although it's not essential, having a transitional shade really helps create that flawless, blended look. There are two different shade ranges of this palette, I have 01 Nu. If I was going to compare this palette to another, L'Oreal's La Palette Nude looks rather similar, I can't vouch whether the quality is any good though.

The brush that comes with this palette for once isn't useless, hurrah! It's quite nice to use to pack on colour with.

I really do love this palette, I'm tempted to try and get my hands on the other Tuxedo palette, which is more purple based.
